Rick Astley (Born 1966) is an English singer - songwriter from Lancashire. Rick started his career apparently as tea boy in the recording studios of Stock Aitken Waterman. He is probably best remembered for his 1987 hit single, 'Never Gonna Give You Up' which was the year's highest selling single and the first of 13 top 30 hits, worldwide. For musch of the 90's and early 2000s Astley remained out of the spotlight. He returned in 2002 with a new album which featured a hit single 'Sleeping'. In 2005 he released the album 'Porterait' in which he covered many classic soul tracks. He is currently involved in the Here Now Tour, which showcases acts from the 80s and will be touring with them in the UK in 2008
