Nazareth are a British rock band who formed in 1968 in Dunfermline, Scotland out of the ashes of the group the Shadettes - Vocalist - Dan McCafferty, guitarist Manny Charlton, bassist Pete Agnew and drummer Darrell Sweet. They moved to London in 1970 and proceeded to have several hard rock hits in the mid 70s. Although the line up has changed over the years, they continue to record and tour, Pete and Dan being the only original members now joined by guitarist Jimmy Murrison and Lee Agnew on drums. In 2008, they are celebrating their 40th anniversary with a world tour and a new album, 'the newz'.
