'Angel' is a 2001 hit song by reggae artist Shaggy featuring Rayvon. It was the follow-up to Shaggy's U. S. number-one hit 'It Wasn't Me"'and also reached number one in the U. S. for the week of 31 March 2001. The song uses the bassline from 'The Joker' by Steve Miller (1973), and also borrows from 'Angel of the Morning,' written by Chip Taylor and best known by the singer Merrilee Rush (1968). The music video was directed by Cameron Casey and features Shaggy with lots of girls all dressed in white. Shaggy is singing the song to his girlfriend saying she is his angel but the video shows him dreaming of someone else.
