This track 'American Girls' is off the Counting Crows fourth album Hard Candy. The song 'American Girls' was featured as the background track to a Pepsi commercial. It is about is about an arrogant guy who gets dumped by his girlfriend after taking her for granted. Although Lead singer Adam Duritz claims that the track is dark and nasty song the overal sound is happy its the lyrics that are somber. Cheryl Crow supplies backing vocals.
