To celebrate the start of today's Beijing Olympics, we thought we'd give a shout out to gold medal winner Carly Patterson. After becoming the Olympic All-Around Gymnastics Champion in 2004, Carly retired from gymnastics in 2006 and set her sights on music stardom. In 2007 she released an independent album titled “Back to the Beginning” and then went on to release the single 'Temporary Life (Ordinary Girl)' on March 25, 2008. Her as yet untitled second album will be released later this summer.




While Carly's music career leaves little to the imagination, I for one, wish her the best of luck! Few girls claim a gold medal at 14 years of age!
