One of Nashville’s finest and most genuine rock and soul artists, Will Hoge, returns to the UK with a stunning collection of songs as he releases his fourth album, ‘Draw The Curtains’ on June 9th. Renowned for his incredible high-energy stage performances, this live album is sheer gold-dust and comes accompanied by a handful of unmissable UK tour dates.
Compared to the likes of the mighty Bruce Springsteen, Counting Crows and Hootie & the Blowfish, Will Hoge delivers good old fashioned twang-free guitar based rock n roll, infused with his own brand of soulful vocals and infectious accessible melodies. With an amazing ability to continually embody his rock/soul godfathers, whilst maintaining an original air of a simple hard working musician, Hoge is one of those artists who’s appeal continues to increase with time.
Born in Franklin, a rural suburb of Nashville, Hoge spent a childhood deeply influenced by his musician father and uncles. He went to Western Kentucky University with the intention of studying history and becoming a high school teacher. However, when he turned his hand to writing rock n roll music, a very different path emerged as he was given the endorsement of former Georgia Satellites front man, Dan Baird, who agreed to join Will on a tour across the deep American south, as well as playing lead guitar on his debut solo album, Carousel.
Since then, Will Hoge has become one of the hardest working musicians on the rock n roll live circuit. Taking permanent residence in a tour bus and travelling with the philosophy that music is his ‘vocation’, a passion that he will take to his grave, Hoge tours incessantly and never fails to wow audiences with his fantastic vibrant shows.
For 2008, Will Hoge presents his fourth album, ‘Draw The Curtains’, a stunningly crafted collection of songs that are as diverse as the relationships they focus on. It’s one of those rare albums that reaches deep into your very being with it’s gritty sincere lyrics bound together with soulful vocals and earnest musical content. If it’s genuine good old fashioned rock n soul that truly moves you, then ‘Draw The Curtains’ is a must have for your collection.
‘Draw The Curtains’ is released on Rykodisc/ADA Global on June 9th.
